Studley aim to rally in vital game

Redditch Editorial 23rd Jul, 2015 Updated: 18th Oct, 2016

STUDLEY face a crunch clash at fellow contenders Pak Shaheen on Saturday as they bid to get their promotion push back on track.

Studley and Pak Shaheen share fourth place in Warwickshire League Division One, five points behind third placed Highway.

However, Studley’s challenge stuttered on Saturday when they lost for the second successive weekend, going down to Weoley Hill by four wickets.

Charlie Bass (39) and Chris Moss (36) were the main contributors in the Studley batting as wickets fell cheaply.

Stuart Harris was dismissed for 22 but the hosts were in real trouble when it became 53-5. Bass and Moss shared 80 runs for the sixth wicket, however, both were then out within three runs.

The innings ended on 177 when Richard Lewis was run out off the last ball.

Studley grabbed an early wicket through Harris but Ross Crathom (74) and Michael Grant (23) took the score to 91 before the latter fell and 38 not out off 40 balls from Luke Chadwick steered Weoley Hill home at 178-6 in the 47th over.

Brandon Miller snapped up 3-31 off ten overs and there was a wicket apiece from Harris, Greg Moore and Lewis.
