WARWICKSHIRE CCC stars including Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott were warmly welcomed to Redditch Entaco Cricket Club last Friday as part of Bears wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose’s benefit celebrations.

Just under 200 guests enjoyed an excellent meal and entertainment in the marquee before the Kingfishers took on the Bears in a T20 match watched by around 300 people.

Redditch Entaco, who have a long tradition of welcoming Warwickshire players to their Bromsgrove Road home, were thrilled to entertain a star-studded Warwickshire squad which also included the likes of Rikki Clarke, Jeetan Patel and Ian Westwood.

Warwickshire batted first and made 196-8 from their 20 overs as Adam Adair (60) and Recordo Gordon (48) led the way. Spinners Tom Field and James Bevan took 3-31 and 2-32 respectively.

The hosts mustered 156-7 in reply including 65 for the first wicket between Jack Roberson (46) and Russell Southwick (42) before Sam Egan made 29 not out late on.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Ambrose’s chosen charities which are Mind, Fisher House and Warwickshire Youth Cricket. For more details, visit www.timambrosebenefit.com.
