Attila the Stockbroker to play in Rugby for the first time

Redditch Editorial 20th Feb, 2019

A RENOWNED performance poet and punk-folk singer is playing in Rugby for the first time.

Attila the Stockbroker was launched into the public consciousness in 1982 by Radio 1 DJ John Peel.

The self-styled ‘DIY multi-instrumentalist’ has released 30 albums, seven books of poetry and his autobiography Arguments Yard. His latest album Restoration Tragedy is out now.

Performing both as a solo artist and with his medieval punk band Barnstormer, he has played over 3,000 gigs in 24 countries.

He will be supported by Leamington-based singer/songwriter Ian Hough, aka ‘Huffy’.

After 25 years of playing bass in various punk/indie bands, Huffy switched to guitar and vocals to perform his own songs, with no desire to make money or become a star.

The gig takes place at The Indian Centre in Edward Street on Friday February 22.
