THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas is underway now that Rugby’s festive lights are on.
Hundreds of Rugbeians flocked to the town centre to watch chart-topping singer Becky Hill push the button on the illuminations.
She also treated fans to a selection of her hits at the event on Sunday (November 17).
The party got started with an afternoon of music featuring Army Cadets drummers, the Benn Hall panto cast, the Revive Choir with the Salvation Army Rugby band, Rugby’s Got Talent winner Paul Sammon, Germein, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners and Rugby Rock Choir.
Children were entertained by fairground rides, face painting, balloon making, birds of prey, a magician, a petting zoo and Santa’s Grotto.
The event culminated in the switch-on of the lights followed by a firework display.
