Adventurous teenagers in Warwickshire urged to become Police Cadets

Redditch Editorial 16th Jan, 2020

TEENAGERS in Warwickshire are being invited to indulge their ‘spirit of adventure’ by becoming Police Cadets.

Recruitment is now underway for Warwickshire Police’s Cadet scheme – open to 13 to 16-year-olds.

Cadets take part in activities including self-defence training, marching, fitness, team building, role playing and outdoor events.

They can also get an insight into police life through talks by guest speakers and by taking part in community policing events.

Cadet leader PC Lee Marston said: “The scheme is aimed at young people who wish to gain a practical understanding of policing and develop their spirit of adventure and good citizenship.

“Cadets are a family where discipline, friendship and team work are all important. You will have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference to your community and developing yourself for any future career.”

Warwickshire Cadets are based at two units, one in Leamington covering South Warwickshire and the other in Nuneaton covering North Warwickshire.

Visit www.warwickshire.police.uk/cadets for more information and application forms. Registration closes on February 29.
