Youngsters tuck into hearty breakfast at Hatton Adventure World

Redditch Editorial 23rd Jan, 2020

HUNGRY pupils tucked into a hearty breakfast at Hatton Adventure World.

More than 20 youngsters from Ferncumbe School in Hatton were collected by tractor and open-top trailer and transported to the park where they learnt about the benefits of breakfast.

It is the 15th year the National Farmers Union and Hatton Adventure World have worked together on the initiative.

The pupils drew pictures to understand where their food came from, before tucking into a breakfast including bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. They then walked around the park to meet some of the animals.

Teacher Kerri Grubb said: “We are so fortunate to have Hatton on our doorstep and for the children to visit the farmyard.

“Many children believe food comes from the supermarket so it’s important they realise where the food comes from and the link between the animals they feed and what they eat. It’s important they take responsibility for their healthy food choices both at home and school.”
