Bank holiday: Health bosses remind people in Worcestershire to plan ahead with GP appointments

Redditch Editorial 30th Apr, 2021

HEALTH bosses in Worcestershire are reminding people to plan ahead with GP appointments ahead of the bank holiday on May 3.

There will be a change in opening times for some NHS services, including GP practices and pharmacies, with some closures on the day.

Dr Carl Ellson, NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG medical director, said: “It’s important to plan ahead and make sure you’re fully prepared for the bank holiday.

“There are a number of different things people can do to be ready, such as collecting your repeat prescription in good time, keeping your medicine cabinet stocked and knowing which healthcare services are available to you.

“If your GP Surgery is not open, call the NHS on 111 to be quickly directed to the right health service, including out of hours GP appointments.

“Pharmacists can also help with a range of common conditions and minor injuries.”
