Alcester food festival goes down a treat

Redditch Editorial 23rd Oct, 2016

THE ALCESTER Food Festival proved a huge success on Saturday (October 15) with people travelling from as far afield as Dorset and North Yorkshire to enjoy the day which was packed with an endless choice of treats.
Steve Brown, Low Bailiff of Alcester Court Leet and member of the food festival committee, said the street was full from one end to the other with a staggering 170 store vendors ranging from the hot savoury goods including Hepy’s Hog Roast and Buddha belly to sweet treats like Barnaby’s Ice Cream in Wheels and Platinum Pancakes.
He added: “The whole day went very well and the streets were completely filled with vendors and packed with people which was great.
“”We had a lot of people travel from really far away especially to come to the food festival. We did just a 15 minute competition on the tannoy to see who had gotten up that morning and just decided to come along and how far people had traveled.
“This just goes to show how popular the festival is.”
