A BURGLAR who led police on a chase in a stolen car has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison.
Martin Dean Jones, 27, of no fixed address, burgled a house in Lyndhurst Road on January 13.
After stealing a wallet, a camera and a bicycle, he then took a Peugeot car from the property and drove off in it.
Local police units caught Jones after a short pursuit and the stolen property was recovered.
After pleading guilty at Warwick Crown Court on Thursday (February 14), Jones was sentenced and disqualified from driving for 45 months.
Following the hearing, Det Cons Gary Hammond from Warwickshire Police said: “I hope this result demonstrates that we take domestic burglaries and the associated offences very seriously, and we will always work to bring those responsible before the courts.”
