HELP raising funds and awareness is on offer to Rugby-based charities.
Rugby Central Shopping Centre is inviting local good causes to put themselves forward to become its ‘Charity for 2019’.
The successful charity will have the chance to reach the 100,000 shoppers who pass through the centre each week through fund-raising events and collections.
Management and retailers at the centre have recently helped the Rugby branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind raise over £5,000 to sponsor guide dog puppy Tilly, a golden retriever who is about to start her training.
The money was raised through cycling challenges, in-centre fundraising events and donations from third party promotions at the centre.
Centre manager Robin Swift said: “We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to locally-based organisations, to provide a platform and location to reach our footfall, and the chance to build awareness for their charitable cause.
“I look forward to receiving some thought-provoking and deserving applications ahead of building a beneficial relationship with the successful charity.”
To apply, charities should explain their aims and objectives, how working with Rugby Central Shopping Centre would benefit their cause, and what they could offer to the shopping centre.
Applications should be kept to a maximum of one side of A4 and submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org before February 28.
They will be shortlisted by the management team and the top three voted on by the centre’s tenants. The winning charity will be notified by mid-March, ready for a start date of April 1.
