Droitwich Specsavers are joined by four-legged friends at St Richard’s Canal Festival

Redditch Editorial 25th May, 2019

FOUR-legged friends were guests of honour at a Droitwich opticians when it took part in the St Richard’s Canal Festival.

The team at Specsavers, based in St Andrews Square, hosted a stall at the event and chatted to visitors about the importance of eye tests.

They were joined by a Guide Dogs representative and two dogs to help spread this message.

Specs and hearing aid MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) were also available.

“We had a great time on the stall with lots of visitors and interaction,” said store director, Emma Singh.

“People were especially interested when the dogs were there and there was lots of discussion around the work that Guide Dogs does as well as the importance of looking after your eyes. We’re passionate about supporting our local community so this was a great opportunity to get out and meet people.”

The St Richard’s Canal Festival celebrates Richard de Wyche who was said to have blessed the Droitwich Spa brine, helping it to flow again when it dried up.

It includes a host of activities including canal boat displays, live entertainment, markets and a well blessing.
