POLICE teams in Solihull have seen a week of pet rescues, saving stricken animals during the heatwave.
On Monday, a thirsty abandoned dog was rescued from a garden in Chelmsley Wood.
This dog was rescued after it was abandoned at a house in Chelmsley Wood. Via Twitter/ West Midlands PoliceOfficers say they had to force entry to a house to save the dog, after neighbours called about its welfare.
It was brought to an RSPCA shelter by the charity’s inspectors.
And yesterday (August 12), officers from the Knowle, Dorridge and Balsall Common police team saved three kittens cast aside in a cardboard box.
They said: “Officers attended an address for a joint visit with Solihull Housing, on arrival they located three kittens with mum who had been left to fend for themselves, in bad conditions, with no food or water in the heat today – all were taken from the property and rehoused.”
