FUNDS for life-saving volunteers will be raised at a Quiz Night hosted by Rotary Rugby Saturday Breakfast.

The triumphant team will win six bottles of wine, while other prizes include funniest team name, a booby prize for the lowest score and a cash prize for the heads and tails contest.

Proceeds will go to the Rugby First Responders.

Pauline Kimber of Rotary Rugby Saturday Breakfast said: “I’m grateful for their dedication, and I know that the people whose lives they’ve saved are grateful too.




“Please help us to help them buy the vital equipment needed to help them carry out their important role in our town.”

The quiz takes place on Friday February 22 at 7.30 pm at the Railway Club in Hillmorton Road.

CAT lovers will be making their way to the Warwickshire Event Centre near Leamington on Saturday February 23.

The Coventry & Leicester Cat Club will be joined for The Household Pet Cat Club of Great Britain, and The Sphynx Cat Association Show, for the exhibition which runs from 11am till 4pm.

A LECTURER in accounting from Birmingham University will speak at the next meeting of the Rugby Fabian Society.

James Brackley will give a talk entitled ‘How Should a Labour Government Revive Local Government?’.

A member of the Hope4 charity will respond by speaking about homelessness in the area.

It takes place on Wednesday (February 27) at 7.15pm at the Friends Meeting House, 28 Regent Place.

THE RUGBY Ramblers will take an eight mile walk from Lawford Heath on Sunday (February 24). Meet just before 9am in Barby Road opposite the Temple Speech Room and bring a packed lunch. Call Sandra on 01788 335148 for more information.
