Warwickshire Museum prepares for out of this world exhibition

Redditch Editorial 17th Apr, 2019

CURATORS at Warwickshire Museum are appealing for help with an out of this world exhibition.

To the Moon and Beyond, being staged this summer, will mark the 50th anniversary of the first man setting foot on the moon, and our continuing fascination with space and space travel through stories, films and television.

Visitors to the museum will be able to see rare samples of moon rock, learn about how the moon was made, and see a collection of space memorabilia from the time.

And curators at Market Hall in Warwick are keen to borrow space-related items residents might own, from space themed toys and comics from the 1960s and 70s, to memorabilia from the Apollo missions, and TV shows such as Star Trek, Lost in Space, and Space 1999.

They are also keen to hear residents’ memories of the first moon landing and of the space race.

Email details of any loan objects, with a photo if possible, to [email protected], or call Rebecca Coles on 01926 736397. The deadline for offers is April 30.
