CORONAVIRUS: 'Lamb-cam' offers chance to witness new-borns from home this weekend

Redditch Editorial 19th Mar, 2020 Updated: 19th Mar, 2020

A ‘LAMB-CAM’ will allow animal lovers to witness the magic of lambing season virtually after Moreton Morrell College cancelled its annual lambing weekend.

The college took the decision following the government’s guidance to avoid public gatherings to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

But staff have been filming the newborn lambs at Nether Moreton Farm to allow people to see them from the comfort of their homes.

The footage will be made available to the public on Saturday and Sunday March 21 and 22, along with coverage of the lambs being fed and cared for.

Farm manager Henry Dingle said: “We apologise for having to take this decision, which was done very reluctantly, but in the current circumstances we know that you will understand.

“While we are disappointed to have to cancel the popular event, the safety and wellbeing of visitors is paramount.

“Please put aside the weekend next year when we hope to be back on the scene with Lambing 2021.”

The college confirmed those who purchased tickets will be refunded.
