Elderly women robbed in Matchborough

ELDERLY women have been robbed of their handbags in Matchborough.

West Mercia Police are investigating a series of purse snatches which are believed to be linked.

The robberies occurred on Tuesday, April 7, around 2pm, Sunday, May 3, around 4.30pm and on Monday, May 11, about 10.45am.

The first two incidents occurred on Haseley Close with the third near to Ledbury Close.




The suspect is a white man in his early twenties, with a round face and was wearing a light blue top.

DC Carrie Barnes from Redditch CID said: “We believe these incidents are linked and we are continuing with our enquiries to trace these offenders.


She urged anyone with any information to call police on 101.
