Girl, 14, arrested on suspicion of assaulting Warwickshire Police officer

SEVEN police officers were assaulted in Warwickshire in the first week of the month.

An officer was allegedly punched in the chest as he responded to a report of a disturbance at a house in Bilton, Rugby on Monday October 4. A 14-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and later released under investigation.

Another officer was allegedly kicked in the leg after she responded to a report of a disturbance at a flat in Stephenson Row, Stratford on the same day. A 19-year-old woman from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

She was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting a woman at a house in Drayton Avenue, Stratford on the previous day. The suspect was later bailed until the end of October while enquiries continue.




Further arrests for assaulting an emergency worker were made in Bedworth, Nuneaton and Mancetter.
