Coventry man arrested on suspicion of slavery and human trafficking offences

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of modern slavery and human trafficking in Stratford.

Police stopped a Ford Transit van in Warwick Road on Friday evening (July 5) to find 20 non-English speaking people in the back.

The 24-year-old from Coventry was taken into custody at Leamington Police Station on suspicion of human trafficking and slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour, and dangerous driving.

Following questioning he has been released under investigation.
