BALSALL Common Primary School is working with West Midlands Police to teach ten pupils about becoming constables.
And road safety and anti-bullying are among responsibilities for the young cadets.
The budding bobbies will have a passing-out ceremony, pledging to protect their schoolmates, on February 28.
Each junior special constable had to apply for the role, and say why they should be chosen for the guardian roles.
Duties for the pint-sized PCs include monitoring parents at drop-off time, watching for litter and working with West Midlands Police dogs.
They will also run information sessions for fellow pupils about British values.
Howard Rose, spokesman for the school, said: “By encouraging children at such a young age we hope to inspire more of them to consider joining the force, as they have a much better understanding of the role.
“Each Junior PCSO has shown amazing commitment to the role and fully deserve to be recognised for it.”
Supported by the mayor of Solihull, local special constable Alana is putting the cub constables through their paces up to graduation day.
