WORLD and Olympic medallist Steve Cram is joining forces with Wythall Community Association for the return of the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run.
Taking place at Wythall Park on Sunday, June 23, the event includes a 5k, 10k and Families on Track relay race.
Steve Cram and the Events of the North team will be there on the day seeing runners over the finish line.
He said: “I’m looking forward to being there on Sunday, June 23.
“With a great running route on traffic-free roads, as well as activities for families and non-runners it should be a great day.”
Coun Adam Kent, Worcestershire County Councillor for Wythall, said: “It’s a real coup for us to be working with Steve, a world-class sportsman, bringing this innovative and exciting event to Worcestershire, creating new opportunities for individuals and families to have fun and live active lives.
“This event is for all, not just experienced runner. We want to welcome families and residents of all abilities including those who have never run before and may have just or are about to embark on local Couch to 5K programmes.
“The event is designed to be a festival of fitness and fun.”
Bromsgrove District councillor and chair of the Wythall Community Association, Coun Sue Baxter, added: “Wythall Community Association is thrilled to host the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run and it’s fantastic proceeds from the event will come back into the Association for future initiatives.”
Alongside the event, the Wythall Community Association is holding a fun day with food stalls, entertainment and taster sessions of other activities on offer at the park.
The association has chosen the Primrose Hospice as the official charity partner. Runners who choose to collect cash for the cause will receive a full fundraising pack.
