EVESHAM Bengeworth won the rounders event at this year’s Wychavon Parish Games as they beat 11 other parishes to the trophy at Badsey Recreation Club.
The parishes were initially split into three groups as Bretforton, Evesham Bengeworth and Wick all emerged as group winners.
And the trio of parishes were joined in the semi-finals by Inkberrow who finished the group stage with the next highest score.
The semi-finals were two close affairs as Evesham Bengeworth beat Bretforton by seven rounders to five and Wick edged out Inkberrow by seven rounders to six-and-a-half.
And an exciting final saw Evesham Bengeworth beat Wick by just one rounder.
The other parishes taking part were: Badsey, Fladbury, Harvington, Hill and Moor, Broadway, Wyre Piddle, Sedgeberrow and Eckington.
The Games contiue at Badsey Recreation Club with the men’s five-a-side football tournament on Sunday, July 9.
