Feckenham hope teenage duo can step up to the plate

Redditch Editorial 17th Feb, 2017 Updated: 28th Feb, 2017

FECKENHAM have high hopes teenage duo Will Langston and Logan Madden can prove their quality at first-team level.

The duo have both switched to the Midland League Division Two side from Highgate United’s under-18s and continue Millers manager Aaron Blackwood and assistant Tom Davies’ determination to promote young prospects.

Langston, a 17-year-old defender, and Madden, a 16-year-old midfield, have played under Blackwood in his time at Highgate and after talking to Highgate boss Ashley Pulisciano they want to progress with Feckenham.

Both featured for the Worcestershire County U18s team on Monday against the West Midlands in a match which ended 2-2.

Assistant manager Davies said “Will and Logan are young lads who have got all the attributes to be very good players.

“They’ve known Aaron for years which has helped and following a conversation with Ashley Pulisciano they felt that Feckenham is now the best place for them both to continue their development.

“Like all young players, they’ll need time to settle and to adjust but they have trained well in recent weeks and the experience will only aid their development – helping them both reach their potential.

“We’d like to thank Ashley and all at Highgate United FC for pushing through the move.”

Langston also worked with Blackwood together within youth football at Studley FC and spent most of his foundation years playing for Evesham United whilst also spending a period within Kidderminster Harriers successful academy during the 2015-16 season.

Madden teamed up with Blackwood this summer at Highgate United U18 and following a promising pre-season has become a main stay in The Gate’s floodlit side.

In recent months, the combative midfielder has played for Feckenham’s Reserves in the Stratford Alliance under the guidance of Spencer Stirling making nine appearances and scoring three goals.

After the home game with Alvis Sporting was postponed last Saturday, Feckenham will welcome Continental Star tomorrow (Saturday).
