Teams pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday

REDDITCH & South Warwickshire Combination teams were in unison on Remembrance Sunday as respects were paid to the fallen.

On the pitch, Lodge Park enjoyed a 5-0 victory over Beoley Village thanks to two goals apiece from Terry Nolan and Peter Murphy and a Gerald Thomson strike.

Redditch Cross remain fourth in the table after defeating Redditch Town 3-0 through goals from Luke Taylor-Jones, Jake Walton and James Priddle.

Sean Parish and Nathan Davies both scored hat-tricks for CBH Fasteners and James Morrall, Daniel Dugmore and Callum Davies were also on target in their 9-1 win over VKL United, for whom Sam Osmond netted.




Mark Wilkes’ strike guided Golden Cross to a 1-0 win over South Redditch, whilst Darby’s hat-trick inspired SO Goose Greenlands to a 5-2 victory over Shakespeare Studley.

Hale and Cartwright were also on target for the victors, with Kelleher and Benton the scorers for Shakespeare.


New Woodland Cottage eased to a 5-0 win over SCC Redolence thanks to a treble from Stuart Price and a brace from Adam Crombie.

Goals from Aklaq, Hawkins-Daniell and Hughes secured a 3-2 win for Studley Swan over AFC Lions, for whom Atkinson and Pearson were on the mark.

There was a clash of the titans in the FA National Sunday Cup second round as Austin Ex-Apprentices edged out former Combination side Black Horse 3-2.

After a tight first half, Black Horse took the lead in the 49th minute from the penalty spot before six minutes later Jak Walton equalised.

Bromsgrove League outfit Black Horse restored their advantage 14 minutes from time but Austin were not to be denied and two goals in three minutes from Lewis Cosgrove and Andy Nicol secured their progress.
