Woodfield and St Bede's to contest Redditch United Schools Cup final

Redditch Editorial 26th Oct, 2016

WOODFIELD Academy will make their first appearance in the Redditch United Schools Cup final when they face St Bede’s Catholic Middle School at the Valley Stadium next week.
The Schools Cup was first organised in 2010 by TRUST (the Redditch United Supporters Club) in liaison with the club and Redditch Sports Partnership.
The competition for year eight teams has further strengthened the club’s links with the community, which chairman Chris Swan and his late wife Sallie have driven on since taking over.
The 2016 final on Thursday, November 3 will be the first on the club’s new 3G pitch and will feature final newcomers Woodfield against St Bede’s, who have won the final once previously.
The Schools Cup sees middle schools in Redditch play each other in two leagues, with play-offs to decide who goes through to the final at the Valley.
Walkwood won the inaugural final and have won the cup three times, whilst Ipsley and 2015 winners Woodrush are also previous victors.
Chairman Chris Swan will present the cup and medals after the match, which kicks off at 3.45pm. Spectators are welcome to attend.
